Keep

Keep track of changes to websites and sitemaps.

Keep checks public pages daily and saves changes in your Feed. Compare the before and after versions, or see which URLs a sitemap has added or removed.

Website monitoring is included with Personal for $10/month. You can monitor up to 10 pages or sitemaps.

Example content. Keep compares readable text for pages and listed URLs for sitemaps, not layout or screenshots.

02.

Choose a public page and check what Keep will monitor.

Select Capture → Subscription → Website monitor. Inspect the content before you enable the monitor. The first successful check becomes the starting point for future comparisons.

  1. 01

    Enter a public URL

Paste the address of a page or an XML sitemap, then choose Webpage changes or Sitemap URL changes.

  2. 02

    Inspect the content

Select Inspect website to read the text or the list of URLs Keep will watch. Give the monitor a name if you like.

  3. 03

    Enable the monitor

Keep saves the first successful check as a baseline. Later checks compare against it and record each change in Feed.

Pages that are worth checking every day.

A webpage monitor compares the readable text of one page. A sitemap monitor compares the list of URLs a site publishes.

  1. A pricing page

See when a plan, price, or limit changes on a public pricing page without opening it every morning.

  2. A changelog or documentation page

Notice new releases, renamed features, and revised instructions on pages that do not publish a feed.

  3. A small site’s sitemap

Find new and removed URLs on a competitor, partner, or client site. Keep reports the URLs, not the content of each page.

04.

Keep a record you can return to later.

Each detected change becomes a saved item with a link to its source. You can review previous changes after you pause or remove the monitor.

05.

Questions about website monitoring.

How often does Keep check a website?

Keep schedules a check each day. You can also use Check now, with at least 15 minutes between manual checks.

Will Keep email me when a page changes?

Changes appear in your Feed. Website monitors do not currently send email or push notifications.

Can Keep monitor a page behind a login?

No. The page must be publicly accessible, and its readable content must be available without signing in or running JavaScript.

Does a sitemap monitor check every page on the site?

No. It compares the URLs in the sitemap. Use a webpage monitor when you want to track the readable content of a particular page.

Are there size limits?

Each check supports up to 2 MB of responses and 100,000 characters of extracted content. A sitemap check can include up to 5 sitemap documents and 1,000 URLs.

Can I try website monitoring on Starter?

You can create a Starter account for free. Website monitoring requires Personal, which costs $10/month and includes up to 10 monitors.
