Keep

Markdown notes with linked sources, history, and share links.

Write notes in Markdown from the web app, the Mac app, the CLI, or a connected AI agent. Link each note to the pages you saved, keep every revision, search across all of them, and share a read-only link with anyone.

Notes and share links work on Starter within your free note allowance. Unlimited notes and search are included with Personal for $10/month.

An example note, its share link, and a search across notes.

The Note tab shows the editor with a linked source and revision history. The Share tab creates a link and shows the read-only page a visitor sees. The Search tab finds a phrase across notes.

Pricing page handoff

Where the pricing rewrite stands before Thursday. The current copy still describes seats, which we dropped in June.

Decisions

One plan plus one add-on. No per-seat tiers on the public page.

Keep the annual toggle. Show the monthly price by default.

Open questions

Do we keep the “Popular” badge or drop it?

The competitor page linked below moved its free tier behind a trial. Worth noting in the FAQ.

How to create a note, link a source, and share the link.

Notes live in the Notes page. Create one from Capture → Write, or add a linked note from any saved item.

  1. 01

    Write a note in Markdown

Open Capture, select Write, and type. Keep saves after 30 seconds or on Command+S, and every save becomes a revision you can restore.

  2. 02

    Link the source

From a saved page, thread, or video, select Add linked note. The note keeps a link to the item so you and your agents can reopen the evidence.

  3. 03

    Share a read-only link

Open the note actions menu and select Share note, then Create and copy link. Select Stop sharing when the link should stop working.

What people use Keep notes for.

Notes work best for writing about the things you saved: decisions, handoffs, research, and the checklists that come out of them.

  1. Decisions and handoffs

Record what was decided and why, with the article or thread that prompted it linked underneath. Share the note when someone else picks the work up.

  2. Research with receipts

Highlight lines while you read and attach them to a note. The note carries the quote and the source, so the claim is checkable later.

  3. Notes your agents can update

A connected agent can read a note, add to it, and leave a change summary. The Agent edits view shows what changed so you can review it.

04.

Every note has a revision history, search, export, and agent access.

Notes are Markdown files with a history. Restore an older version, search them, export them, or read and edit them from the CLI and MCP.

Questions about creating and sharing notes in Keep.

Who can open a shared note?

Anyone with the link. Visitors do not need a Keep account or sign-in. The link is unlisted, so only people you send it to can find it.

What does the shared page show?

The note title, the latest saved Markdown, and when it was last updated. It does not show your account, revision history, properties, tags, projects, or linked sources.

Can I stop sharing a note?

Yes. Select Stop sharing from the note actions and the link stops working. Creating a new link for the same note also disables the previous one.

Can people comment on or edit a shared note?

Not yet. Shared notes are read-only. Edit the note in Keep and visitors see the latest saved version the next time they open the link.

Can I share notes on Starter?

Yes. Starter includes a limited number of notes, and you can share any of them. Personal for $10/month removes the limit and adds search across notes and saved items.

How do I get my notes out of Keep?

Copy or download any note as Markdown from its actions menu, or run keep notes export with the CLI to download every current and archived note as a ZIP of Markdown files.
