Keep gives you a personal inbox address you can use to subscribe to newsletters or forward emails. Each email is saved as a clean markdown item in your feed.
Email forwarding requires a paid plan (Plus or Pro).
1. Open dashboard → sources and add an email inbox source.
2. Copy your unique k-...@in.keep.md address.
3. Use the address to subscribe to a newsletter, or forward an email to it from your normal inbox.
You get one inbox address per account. Save it as a contact so it is easy to forward emails to later.
Use your Keep address when subscribing to any newsletter. Most providers send a confirmation email that Keep detects and shows as “pending confirmation” on your source. Click confirm to complete the subscription.
Once confirmed, new newsletter issues arrive in your feed automatically as markdown.
You can set up Gmail to automatically forward specific emails to Keep so they appear in your feed without manual forwarding.
1. In Gmail, open Settings → Forwarding and POP/IMAP and add your Keep inbox address as a forwarding address.
2. Gmail sends a confirmation email to Keep. Open your Keep inbox and confirm it.
3. In Gmail Settings → Filters and Blocked Addresses, create a filter for the sender or newsletter you want to route.
4. Set the filter to Forward it to your Keep address. Optionally enable Skip the Inbox to archive the email in Gmail at the same time.
Most email apps support forwarding rules. The setup is similar to Gmail: add your Keep address as a forwarding destination, then create a rule or filter that routes the emails you want.
Apple Mail: create a rule under Settings → Rules that forwards matching emails to your Keep address.
Outlook: create a rule under Settings → Mail → Rules to redirect or forward messages.
Each email is parsed into clean markdown. Keep extracts the subject, sender, and body content. HTML emails are converted to readable markdown with links preserved.
Forwarded emails are automatically unwrapped so the original message content is saved, not the forwarding wrapper. Transactional emails (password resets, verification codes, welcome messages) are automatically filtered out.
Each accepted email uses 1 link credit. Confirmation emails, transactional emails, and duplicates are skipped at no cost.
Substack does not use a simple confirm link. Instead it emails a 6-digit verification code and a login link. To subscribe:
1. Subscribe on the Substack site using your Keep inbox address.
2. Open your Keep inbox and find the verification email. Note the 6-digit code.
3. Click open Substack in Keep. This opens the login link and signs you in.
4. Go back to the Substack site and subscribe again. Because you are now logged in, the subscription completes without another verification step.
We are exploring ways to streamline this. For now the extra step is required for Substack newsletters.
