YouTube content
Save transcripts and comments from individual videos, or follow a channel to automatically save new uploads as they are published.
Saving a single video
Paste any YouTube URL into the chrome extension, the CLI, or the API to save it. Free accounts save the title, URL, and video metadata. Paid plans also keep the transcript and richer content as markdown when available.
Following a channel
Add a YouTube channel as a source to automatically save new uploads in the background. Keep checks for new videos every few hours and saves each one into your library.
- Open settings -> subscriptions and add a new source.
- Choose YouTube channel and enter the channel URL or handle.
- Optionally enable a one-time backfill to import recent videos (up to 90 days).
- Keep checks for new uploads in the background and saves them automatically.
Accepted channel formats
You can provide the channel in several formats and Keep resolves it automatically:
handle: @Fireship or youtube.com/@Fireship
channel ID: UCsBjURrPoezykLs9EqgamOA
custom URL: youtube.com/c/channelname
video URL: any video URL from the channel (Keep looks up the channel from the video)
Backfill options
start from now (default): only captures videos published after you add the source. No historical import.
one-time backfill: imports videos from the past 1 to 90 days when you first add the channel. After the initial import, only new uploads are captured going forward.
Usage
Free accounts can follow channels and keep new uploads as links with metadata. On paid plans, each video with kept full content counts toward your billing-cycle usage. Duplicate videos already in your feed are skipped at no cost.
Removing a channel
Open settings -> subscriptions and delete the channel source. Existing saved videos stay in your feed -- only future syncs stop.
