Sync X bookmarks and articles

Connect one or more X accounts to sync bookmarks, expand threads, capture linked pages, and follow X article sources.

Connect X to save bookmarks as Items. Keep can expand a post into its thread and save a linked page with it.

Automatic X sync requires a paid plan.

Connect an X account

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Open Connections.
  3. Find X.
  4. Select Connect X.
  5. Authorise bookmark access.
  6. Choose a recent backfill or start from now.
  7. Choose the capture options.

You can connect more than one X account. Keep shows sync state and controls for each account.

Choose a backfill

Use Start from now to save future bookmarks only. Use a recent-bookmark option to run one capped import.

Keep does not promise a complete historical X import. Use the extension export when you need a manual browser-based snapshot.

Capture linked pages

Turn on linked-page capture to process the main external link in a bookmarked post. The post and linked page stay connected in one Item reader.

The reader can show separate Discussion and Source views.

Expand threads

Turn on thread expansion to collect the author’s connected self-replies. Keep saves the posts in order with their text, links, media, and quoted posts when available.

Sync an account now

Open the account controls. Select Sync now. If a run fails, read the error and select Retry.

Import bookmarks from the extension

Use the browser extension when you need a manual export.

  1. Export X bookmarks as JSON from the Keep extension.
  2. Open Settings in Keep.
  3. Open Data.
  4. Find Import.
  5. Select Import X bookmarks.
  6. Select the JSON file.
  7. Review the preview.
  8. Start the import.

See Import for processing options.

Follow X articles

An X article source watches one author for new long-form articles.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Open Sources.
  3. Select Add source.
  4. Select X articles.
  5. Enter the username.
  6. Choose a backfill.
  7. Add the source.

This source is separate from an account bookmark connection.

Disconnect an account

Open the account controls. Select Disconnect. Existing Items stay in Keep. Future bookmarks from that account stop syncing.

Remove an X article source from Settings, then Sources.
