# Manage your Keep settings

Find Keep settings for saved item display, account security, subscriptions, AI connections, imports, exports, and billing.

Open [Settings](https://app.keep.md/settings/general) from the account menu. Settings are split into six sections.

| section | what you can manage |
| --- | --- |
| General | App size, capture defaults, and saved item display |
| Account | Profile, password, account access, and deletion |
| Plans & billing | Plans, legacy allowances, payment details, and invoices |
| Sources | Subscriptions and your private email inbox |
| Connections | Browser extensions, agents, API keys, webhooks, GitHub, X, Kindle, and mobile |
| Import & export | Imports, document uploads, and portable exports |

Use **Find a setting** at the top of the page when you know what you want to change. Select a result to open the right section.

## Change the app size and saved item display

Open [General settings](https://app.keep.md/settings/general) to change how Keep looks and what appears in Saved.

**App size** scales the full interface from 80% to 135%. You can also use `Command + Plus`, `Command + Minus`, and `Command + 0` on macOS. Use the equivalent Control shortcuts on other systems.

**Capture defaults** control automatic tagging and summaries for new Items. Automatic tagging requires a paid plan.

**Saved item display** can show or hide favicons, tags, personal notes, and collections. These switches only change the Saved layout.

## Check usage and billing

Open [Plans and billing](https://app.keep.md/settings/plans) to choose a plan or manage an existing subscription. Starter is free and includes bookmark saves and up to 50 notes. Personal costs $10 per month and includes full-content Markdown extraction, search, sources, automation, CLI, MCP, and API access. X bookmark sync is an optional $5 monthly add-on.

Legacy Plus and Pro subscriptions appear as legacy plans. They include 50 free notes. Keep explains the allowance after the first note and when the last free note is saved. Get Personal for notes, full search, automation, and agent access. Keep selects the X add-on during the upgrade when X bookmark sync is already connected. You can clear the option before you pay.

The page shows the allowances that apply to your account. Legacy paid plans show their monthly full-content, summary, transcription, and Note usage. Starter also shows the remaining note credits. Personal does not show customer-facing processing quotas.

Paid accounts can open the Stripe billing portal, edit invoice details, view invoice history, and print an invoice or save it as a PDF.

### If a subscription ends

Your library stays yours. You keep full read access to every Item, highlight, and Note you saved, and you can still search them and [export everything](https://keep.md/docs/export) as Markdown, JSON, or CSV.

What pauses is new work: saving new Items, running automatic sources, and writing Notes. Resubscribe at any time and those resume with your library unchanged.

## Change your profile or account access

Open [Account settings](https://app.keep.md/settings/account) to:

- change the name shown in Note history
- request an email address change
- send yourself a password reset link
- sign out on the current device
- delete your account and saved data

You can sign in with email and password, Google, or GitHub at [app.keep.md/login](https://app.keep.md/login). Gmail accounts use the Google option. GitHub sign-in is separate from the GitHub content connection in Connection settings.

An email change takes effect after you use the confirmation link sent to the new address.

You must cancel an active paid subscription before deleting the account. Account deletion is permanent.

## Manage subscriptions and email capture

Open [Source settings](https://app.keep.md/settings/sources) to add or manage RSS, Hacker News, YouTube, and X article subscriptions. You can edit, pause, resume, sync, roll up, or remove a source. Removing a source does not delete the Items it already saved.

Paid accounts can create a private email inbox in the same section. The [subscriptions guide](https://keep.md/docs/subscriptions) covers source types and shared options. The [email inbox guide](https://keep.md/docs/email) covers forwarding and newsletter confirmations.

## Connect browsers, agents, and services

Open [Connection settings](https://app.keep.md/settings/connections) to install the browser extension or connect another service.

The following connections are available.

- Chrome and Firefox extension links
- personal and read-only API keys
- connected AI agent access
- webhook endpoints and delivery history
- GitHub star and Gist sync
- X bookmark sync
- your Kindle address
- the iOS Shortcut and mobile key

The [API key guide](https://keep.md/docs/api-keys) explains each key type. The [webhook guide](https://keep.md/docs/webhooks) covers events, signatures, and retries.

## Import or export data

Open [Import and export settings](https://app.keep.md/settings/data) to import bookmarks, Kindle highlights, X bookmarks, Safari Reading List entries, or RSS subscriptions. Document uploads also start here.

The same section exports Notes, Items, and RSS subscriptions. The [import guide](https://keep.md/docs/import) and [export guide](https://keep.md/docs/export) cover each file type and option.
